A
word from my Dad on Biblical Judging (also part of the FEDBP team)
Have you noticed how many types of problems are happening all around us and around the world? It looks like the devil is destroying anything or everything that is not guarded or protected by vigilant Christians. The Apostle Paul predicted: “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, head strong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!...” (2nd Timothy 3:1-9)
We should notice several things from that passage: “having a form of godliness” tells us those dangerous people are in the “Christian” category as leaders. If they were losers in the back row, they wouldn’t have much influence and it would be easier to “avoid” them. But, those people have become leaders in many Churches and Christian social circles and they love money. When Christian leaders live like that among real Christians, they must make safety for themselves so they don’t get caught and thrown out. Though we wish for higher, based on the patterns of the leaders at the JudgeNot Conference, we are expecting the “Judge Not” Conference to dumb down the Biblical teaching of judging evil – both discerning good and evil, and standing up to what God says is evil and encouraging what God says is right.
Jesus taught His followers how to judge, in Luke 7:40-47, using a “what if” scenario to then explain the real life example. Jesus Himself taught His disciples how to judge. “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” (John 7:24) If you judge others wrongly “with what judgment you judge, you will be judged… it will be measured back to you.” (Matthew 7:1-5) If you are standing in obedience in the things you judge, if they judge you back it will not hurt you. Jesus explained the next step if you see a brother sinning against you in Matthew 18:15-20. Jesus was critical of those who do not judge with righteous judgment, Luke 12:57, John 7:24.
The Apostle Paul gave further teaching about judging, “Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?... Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more things that pertain to this life?” Paul rebuked the saints in Corinth, “Do you not judge those who are inside [the church]…?” Please understand 1st Corinthians 2:15, “He who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.” If you are a godly Christian, God is using you as a righteous judge against evil. You are part of a team and the Holy Spirit is using you as part of the body of Christ to oppose the devil’s plans as mentioned in 2nd Thessalonians 2:7.
The JudgeNot conference is coming in 2 weeks, and it looks like a problem. Some of the speakers are people we all know and like, but they are not the biggest leaders, so they are not in control. The big names are driving the agenda. Here is the list and we are not pointing out who we figure are the trouble-makers: Chris Hinkley, Phil Johnson, JD Hall, Justin Peters, Frank Mullis, Andrew Rappaport, Chris Rosebrough, Anthony Silvestro, and Mike Abendroth (in the order they show up on the schedule).
Our concern is that the big names are trying to change God’s teaching about judging, to be reduced to only the big leaders who have the training from Seminaries to know how to judge. But 2nd Timothy 3 warns us that they have a selfish money agenda and we already explained that they need to protect themselves from getting caught and rejected.
We study God’s Word every day and we try to keep our eyes watching for trouble. We think the “Judge Not” Conference is intended to be the start of a bigger agenda to change the Christians beliefs on the eastern half of the USA. The best way to stop them is by asking good questions – online in Biblical communities, and at the conference. As you read this, please consider what questions you might need to ask or look for honest answers for.
I know some of these leaders are really popular and well-respected. If they deserve your respect, they will have good Biblical answers. But if these leaders won’t answer these questions, if they won’t stop doing what is openly wrong, then they don’t deserve any respect from any of us. My family and team has spent many hours studying these people, we know what they are doing. We are giving you the links to “find them out”. Each of the links are exposing serious problems. If you don’t understand why it’s important, please ask. Your question will also help others who had the same question.
